Who is behind the label
For over 130 years, American Humane Association has been at the forefront of virtually every major policy movement and shift in cultural attitudes aimed at improving the lives of children and animals.
Supporting our reputation as “the gold standard” for farm animal welfare certification is the organization behind us, which believes in a reasoned and solutions driven approach based on scientific research and proven best practices.
A major differentiator for American Humane Association is that our national mission encompasses not just farm animals, but animals in entertainment, (“No Animals Were Harmed”) companion animals through animal protection services, and emergency rescue and relief of animals in disasters (Red Star). In addition to the animal protection programs, the organization has robust children and family programs, as well as education around the important link and connection between humans and animals. It’s an overarching mission to promote humane behavior that resonates with socially conscious people, just as protecting the environment and sustainable farming practices.
